confidence and humility (and the love of the game)
What's gaming all about, Brian?
as i go through this journey of learning how to get better at dance, i'm starting to discover some new things about myself
part of me thought being better at something (in this case, dancing) would automatically grant me confidence
when i get the opportunity to chat with my instructors, i was (pleasantly) surprised to find out they are all incredibly humble and in many cases, as socially awkward as me LOL
if anything, they still have the invaluable growth mindset because despite their level of expertise, they always find new things to learn in dance, even in beginner classes
it's almost like they are simply doing this for the love of the game
it goes against the rumour that since dancing is a performance art, it would be riddled with people who are incredibly superficial and arrogant (as cited by exactly two of my friends who live in NYC and LA, respectively - go figure)
anyways, being good at something doesn't automatically make you more confident
if anything, HOW you apply what you are good at could be the turning point for something like that
at least that's what i think - stay tuned for more
